When you don't know where to get fresh natural henna, the temptation is to get a pre-fab cone from the local 'grocery'.
Please don't (more about that in a minute) - Let Alchemy be your local choice for fresh-mixed natural henna. Or if you're not in metro Detroit I'd be happy to point you in the direction of some great sources that ship.
At the local grocery:
Sometimes called 'emergency', 'instant', 'black' or 'chemical'* cones - these choices are risky! (go ahead and Google "black henna" and see the nasty scars).
Message me for cones or contacts.
Simple, honest ingredients for my favorite mix:
Raw henna powder (Lawsonia inermis), water, essential oils, and sugar. If I'm feeling fancy, or mixing for an event, I sometimes infuse the henna with something that represents that place and scene - like Palo Santo essential oil for Eldorado General Store - or Wolf Moon Mixers Hibiscus Blend for cocktail parties.
I like to blend a little Jamila henna powder from Pakistan with my Rajasthani henna powder because like all things 'plant', the earth and environment matter. And I like the creamy, dark chocolate look henna in photos.
Want your own custom blend - - lets talk? I LOVE doing that.
*chemical - technically sugar is a chemical. Any substance that works a change on the metabolism is a chemical...
