![]() Sort of I've been mixing up natural skin care for my self and friends for 23 years. "Regular" people didn't have the internet when I started mixing up my own skin-care lotions. Ingredients weren't easy to come by; and there was no service to deliver 'diatomaceous earth' to my door. In fact, I had to go to the library to look up (in a card catalog) what it was and why it was in my recipe. At the time, my favorite little emulsion was: 1 T Sweet Almond Oil 1 t vegetable glycerine 5-7 drops Neroli (which was a quarter of our monthly grocery budget for .10 oz) Blended with a hand whisk in a porcelain tea cup -- and dabbed on clean skin. And a spritz of Rose Water. It still gives me so much pleasure to create effective products for specific needs; finding the right essential oils for the treatment; mix masks. I love making fresh, custom blends for facials -- and finding the right small-batch creations of others to offer clients.
Some favorites: Featherheart Trading Company - whipped lotions & body oils Marble & Milkweed - ANYTHING Briar makes is 'delicious'. But I'd like to suggest the Jasmine & Green Tea Matcha Masque, and the seasonal body oils City Girl Soap and City Girl Lotion -- there's a short blod dedicated to WHY I recommend the goats' milk lotion especially.
