Please review the Alchemy cancellation and no-show policy: Alchemy may charge for same day cancellation and no-shows.
- No-show charges are stated within the description of the appointment, by reserving your appointment you are agreeing to these terms.
- The basic policy information is embedded in the description of each appointment option. Here is an example from the half hour henna appointment -
- "Please review our cancellation policy. No Shows will be charged $25. Cancellations are not possible via the website, call: 248-797-0416 Declined payment of No Show protection will result in prepayment of any new appointments. The full policy is in the menu as "Policies". By requesting and confirming this appointment you are agreeing to the Cancellation and No Show Policy."
- Yes, life happens. If you get in touch BEFORE the appointment, I offer every client a 'grace'.
- The Square appointment system used by Alchemy makes it possible for you to message and email me directly. The phone number for Alchemy is in many visible places, including Google, imbedded in appointment descriptions, this website, and your appointment confirmation.
- Clients who do not respond to text, Square Appointment messages, phone, text or email communications regarding their appointment, will automatically be charged.
- For any appointment, I will call or text at five (5) minutes late to check on your progress.
- A second attempt will be made at ten (10) minutes late.
- Cancellation and charges for no contact are as follows:
- 1/2 hour appointment - 15 minutes
- 45 minute appointment or more - 20 minutes
- Declined payment: The card you used to book your appointment is the card that will be charged. If this card is declined, future appointments will require pre-payment.
- Clients with a no-call, and/or no-show on their account will be asked to make a non refundable prepayment for the posted value of the appointment.
- For example: The minimum charge for a 45 minute henna session is $60, so the non-refundable pre payment is $60.
Alchemy is a By Appointment service-based business for a reason. We value time - it can only be spent once.
Unconfirmed Appointments
A real person reviews the calendar throughout the week. If we notice an unconfirmed appointment 24 hours before the accepted request, we push the automated system to resend a confirmation request. We assume appointment requests are made 'in good faith'. If the appointment does not get confirmed via automations or our attempts to reach you within a reasonable time, ALCHEMY reserves there right to cancel your request.
Clients who do not respond to text, Square Appointment messages, phone, text or email communications regarding their request, will automatically be cancelled.

Your Responsibility for the Success of the body art
Clients are responsible for aftercare. Natural Henna (Lawsonia inermis) and Jagua (Jenipa americana) do not work instantly. The care you take after the design is applied is critical to the success of the art work.
Alchemy mixes henna paste fresh from powder imported from India. The Jagua gel is purchased from Fresh Jagua
- ASK QUESTIONS: I want this to be successful for YOU! Not sure how to care for your art? Ask me!

- Review the "Prepare and Aftercare" section on this website. Knowing how to prepare is the first step.
- At the time of your appointment, we discuss the Best Practices for getting a great, long lasting stain. This is a great time to clarify and ask questions.
- Henna and Jagua are both plant based forms of body art. They have their own requirements which can be found at "Prepare and Aftercare"
- Following these Best Practices will help you get the best possible outcome.
- Henna and Jagua generally last 10-14 days.
- Some factors that impact the stain and longevity are: aftercare, placement (hand, leg, decollate, foot, etc), water exposure (pool, ocean, shower, bath), sun, chemical exposure, health, lotion before appointment, tanning, spa, shaving.

Donation Requests
Alchemy Henna is a solo-preneurship, the donations/sponsorship budget is small and selective:
Before you ask for donations or sponsorship from Alchemy Henna, you should consider whether your audience and Alchemy's audience is similar (or has the opportunity for cross-pollination).
For example, is your organization is a 501(c) (3) that is for women, by women or affiliated with artistic movements or life-style? We might be a good fit to support your organization via donation, sponsorship, gift cards, or by offering our services for fundraising.
Alchemy is more likely to say yes to clients because we are already invested in you. We can sometimes gift our time and talents to help you raise funds in lieu of paid sponsorship or donations. Clients with cool projects (women's rights, urban farmers, animal welfare, shelters, women-lead business) should reach out.
Cold call and blind requests from unknown entities will not be considered.
Inquiries should be emailed to Monique Herzig at [email protected] with subject line: Donation Request and Organization Name
